DRINKING WINE

Some folks drink wine
from a bottle.
Some folks drink wine
from a jug.
Some folks drink wine
from a slipper.
I'll drink mine down
on the rug.

Some folks drink wine
from a navel.
Some folks drink wine
from a glass.
I like to drink wine
as it circles
The hilltops and down
through the pass.

Some folks drink wine
from a tin cup.
Some folks drink wine
from a shoe.
I drink my wine
in the bushes,
'cause that's where the
flavor comes through.

Some folks drink wine
from a goat skin.
Some folks drink wine
from a flask.
Some folks are so dog-
gone thirsty,
They have to drink wine
from a cask.

Some folks drink wine
as a chaser.
Some folks drink wine
through a straw.
Some folks use wine
for their bathing.
I like to just
drink it raw.

Some folks drink wine
when it's flowed down
the contours that make
it taste rich.
Sometimes I fumble
and spill it,
and drink my wine
out of the ditch.

Some folks drink wine
in the country.
Some folks drink wine
in the town.
Some folks drink wine
as they go up.
I'll drink mine when
I go down.
